Documenting living heritage in two pols in the old town of Ahmedabad
With the city of Ahmedabad listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and becoming a growing tourist destination, this project provided an opportunity for locals gain agency in the presentation and preservation of their city.
Through a series of community events residents and business owners – with a strong focus on women and children’s – mapped tangible and intangible heritage of the area, deepening their own relationships with the city and developing an inclusive local narrative that was shared through an app, map and an art exhibition.
